The history and location of Liverpool Blue Coat School

In year 1706 Rev. Robert Styth and Bryan Blundell established the Liverpool Blue Coat School with the prime aspiration of founding 'a school for teaching poor children to read, write and cast accounts'. Initially the school building was positioned at School Lane and in 1719 new constructions of the school was built. This construction is now known as Blue Coats Arts Centre. At the end of Victorian age the authority of the school decided to move the school from the bustling and polluted city ambience to the lush region of Wavertree. The Blue Coat School Liverpool is now located at Church Road of Wavertree district in Liverpool which is 3 miles away from City Centre.
