Anfield is a football stadium in Anfield region of Liverpool that was the base ground of Liverpool F.C and the Evertson F.C. at different times. Built in the year 1884, the Anfield stadium in Liverpool has a capacity to accommodate 45, 362 people.
Anfield: History
The field was primarily owned by John Houlding and was rented to Evertson F.C for few years. After a dispute occurred on the rent issue, the tenancy moved on to the Liverpool Association Football Club that was formed by the owner himself. The Liverpool Football Association was enlisted in the Football League in 1893.
With time and popularity, the Anfield stadium saw many changes in its construction. The seating capacity was increased and new stands were built. Floodlights were erected in the field to facilitate night matches. The stadium has a gallery of sculptures of famous footballers and sportsmen. The gallery is a special attraction to the spectators. - The Main Stand: It has a seating arrangement for over 12,277 people. It also houses director boxes.It was built in the year 1973.
- Anfield Road Stand: Built in the year 1998, the stand has a total of 9,074 seats which has separate seating arrangements for the Away fans as well as the home supporters.

- Centenary Stand: Built in the year 1963, it was primarily known as the Kemlyn Road Stand. It initially had a seating capacity of 6600 people, which was later expanded to a capacity of 11, 762 people. It was dedicated to the centenary celebrations of the club and is therefore known as the Centenary Stand.

- First match that was held in the Anfield-Between Everton and Earlston on the 28th of September, 1884. Everton won the game 5-0.
- The first FA cup was semi final was held in the year 1888, in which Crewe Alexandra was beat by Preston North End.
- First match of Liverpool Association Football Club was held in Anfield on the first of September, 1892. The LAFC was pitted against Rotherham Town. Liverpool was the winner in this game with 7 points.
- The first league match that was played in the stadium had the Liverpool team and the Lincoln city team as the two competing teams. Liverpool won the game with 4 points.
