Re-establishment of Liverpool Academy of Arts:
William Roscoe took the initiative to establish the Liverpool Academy of Arts in 1810. It was home to many exhibiting societies. The academy was closed and reopened several times. Finally in 1988 Arthur Dooley, a famous sculptor, activist, catholic and communist re-established this academy. Allan Johnstone provided financial support for the re-establishment of this institution. Adrian Henri held the post of the head of this academy.

Liverpool Academy of Arts has also been selling works of art other than exhibiting these works. It also arranged for many theatrical performances. It has hosted more than 200 exhibitions between 1988 and 2006. This institution is also the place where an annual Beatles Exhibition is held. Visitors from all over the world come to attend this exhibition.
Arthur Dooley Academy:
Liverpool Academy of Arts exhibited the works of many renowned artists as well as many amateurs. Some of the famous artists were Don McKinlay, Adrian Henri and so on. Liverpool Academy of Arts also runs the Arthur Dooley Academy. This archive exhibits the work of Arthur Dooley. It remains open from Tuesday to Thursday from 10 am to 4 pm.
New Premise of Liverpool Academy of Arts:
The Academy was shifted to its current premises at 32 Seel Street in 2007. Liverpool Academy of Arts has been promoting visual art since its establishment. It has encouraged the production of creative art works.
