A trip to the city is incomplete without visiting the Sharjah Souqs which have boutique, open air reception,department store, flea market, supermarket, circus in the same place. The structure of the new Souqs are inspired by the modern architectural designs. The older Souqs of Sharjah have been refurbished and the traditional style has been preserved to attract both residents and tourists. The city has many souks which sell all kinds of articles from jewelry, electronic goods, furniture, accessories, fish, vegetables and all. Some of the popular souks in Sharjah are the Central Market (Blue Souq), Al Majarrah Souq, the Sharjah Gold Center, the Fruit & Vegetable Market, the Fish Souq, the Plant & Pot Souq and the Al Arsah Souq.
The Central Market or Blue Souq is one of the biggest Sharjah Souqs, that was constructed following the Islamic design. It is located at the end of the Corniche Road, on the enchanting Khaled Lagoon which adds to the beauty and magnificence of the market. The maintenance of the Central Souq is done by the Sharjah Municipality.

The Central market of Sharjah has two wings that are linked with tunnels. One of the wings is meant for goods, gifts items and electronics goods, while the other deals in jewelry, gold and gems shops. There are a number of antique and pseudo antique shops, a large selection of fine rugs, silver jewelry, Omani and Yemeni antique jewelry and subcontinent curios, artifacts and more.
The Fish Souq is located at Al Soor, near to the Blue Souq. It is open from 6.30 am to 12.30 pm and 5 pm to 10 pm in the evening. Visitors can buy various types of fishes like pomfret, red snapper, sole, lobster, prawns, squids and many other species.
The Sharjah Gold Center has 44 shops selling gold jewelry famous all over the world for their huge collection, design and craftsmanship. Some of the famous brands that sell jewelry at this souk are Bin Hindi, Damas Damascus, Sapphires Jewelry, Al Futtaim Watches, Damra, Nada Jewelry, Al Qandeel, Sunshine Jewelry, Prima Gold. Sharjah souks have made shopping in the city more convenient, easy and exciting.
