Located 26 kilometers from the heart of the city and in close proximity to the Sharjah International Airport at Interchange 8, this museum is easily accessible from all parts of the city. This is also an educational museum for the children, as they get to know about the variety of flora and fauna and their adaptation with the desert type of climate.

The Marine Hall showcases the amazing underwater world. A three dimensional effect is artificially created. As the guests enter the hall they feel as if they are walking on the floor of the sea amidst numerous varieties of sea fish. Dugong sea cow a rare mammal living on the sea grass beds is kept here.
The Children’s Farm of the Natural History Museum & Desert Park is indeed a treat for the family and the children. Modeled after a barn yard, domestic animals like camels, donkeys, sheep and goats are kept here. Children can watch how a simple egg hatches into a chick. They can also enjoy pony rides in the circular path. Feeding the animals is also fun. The breeding center in this museum is not open to the public. Different species of animals like the Arabian leopard, caracals, Arabian wolves, Blandfords and Ruppell's foxes are bred here. After these animals grow up they are transferred to the Wildlife Center of the museum.
Wildlife Center of Sharjah Natural History Museum is a zoo. Different types of predators are kept here. Other animals like the Arabian Oryx and different species of gazelles, Nubian ibex and ostriches are kept. The Wildlife Center has tried its best to create a natural environment for these animals. Smaller animals are exhibited in small walk through glass houses. There is a small mammal house, a reptile house and a butterfly house in the center.
