Tourist Attractions: Bangkok has many fine palaces and temples, which are breathtaking in the exquisiteness of their craftsmanship. Some of the temples that you should definitely pay a visit to while you are in Bangkok are Wat Pha Kaeo, Wat Pho, and Wat Suwannaram. The Wat Pha Kaeo is a magnificent temple built in the Grand Palace. The Emerald Buddha image here is an image of Lord Buddha in the meditating posture. It dates back from the 15th century. It was brought by King Rama I from Vientiane. It is one of the most important images of Lord Buddha in Thailand and is most revered by the people of Thailand. There are statues of King Rama I to King Rama VIII, which are worshipped on Chakri Day on April 6 every year.

Museums: There are many fascinating museums in Bangkok giving a glimpse into its glorious and fascinating history. Some of the museums, which enable the visitor to relive the ancient history and culture for themselves, are Bangkok Folk Museum, National Museum, and Prasart Museum. Bangkok Folk Museum is situated right in the center of Bangkok. It offers a variety of interesting exhibits, which include antiques, traditional household goods, and other items used in traditional ceremonies. The National Museum was built in the year 1884. There are a large variety of exhibits of the Neolithic era here. All the exhibits are labeled in English, which is sometimes not too comprehendible. But, still this magnificent museum is definitely worth a look.

Amusement Parks: If you would like to take your children out for a day full of adventure and thrills, then there are many amusement parks, which you can choose from, in Bangkok.

Some of the amusement parks in which you can take your kids out are Ancient City, Crocodile Farm, and Dream World. The Crocodile Farm in Bangkok is the largest crocodile farm of the world. It was established in 1950 by a hotel pageboy to save crocodiles from extinction. There are over 30,000 crocodiles here now. The largest crocodile to live in captivity is also in this park. It also has a small zoo and elephant rides.

Beaches: There are several beaches within a short distance of Bangkok. The beach of Pattaya is at a distance of two hours drive from Bangkok. The Hua Hin beach is at a distance of 4 hours drive from Bangkok. The Ko Samet beach is also within a short distance from Bangkok. If you want to go to a beach within Bangkok city, you will have to make do with beaches by the sides of the rivers and lakes. There are no sea beaches within Bangkok city. The Pattaya beach is the main beach to which Bangkok residents go. The main beach of Pattaya is somewhat crowded, but there are quieter areas in the north of Pattaya beach and the nearby Jomtien Beach.
