Applicants who wish to enter for tourism purposes get a tourism visa. These visa holders are allowed to stay in Thailand for not more than 60 days at a time. Passport holders of 40 countries and Hong Kong SAR do not require a visa if they are coming to Thailand for tourism purposes if their stay does not exceed 30 days.
Immigration Services: Foreigners who have non-immigrant visas and who have resided continuously in Thailand for three years can apply for a permanent residency in Thailand. For aliens who have a spouse in Thailand, the alien is initially given permission for 90 days. The immigration office then extends this stay for one year at a time. Foreigners with non-immigrant visas who have resided in Thailand continuously for three years (on one year extensions) can apply for a permanent residence.
