Bashar al-Assad: early life
Bashar al-Assad, the eminent politician of Syria, was born in 11th September of 1965. His father, Hafez al-Assad, was an efficient commander in the Syrian army. Bashar lost his brother Basil in 1994 in an accident and this incident brought him into active politics. In year 1999 Assad was nominated as a colonel and became more occupied with politics. On 10th June of 2000, Hafez al-Assad passed away and Assad was ultimately selected as the commander-in-chief of Syria. On 10th July of 2000 Assad was finally selected as the President.

He single-handedly ushered in the Information Technology revolution in Syria. Assad also popularized mobile phones in Syria as well.
