Zurich Film Festival 2005 - a retrospective
2005 was the first year of Zurich Film Festival. It was held between 5th to 9th October 2005, and was a huge success. Film makers from all over the world actively participated in it . Films on different subjects were screened in this festival, and the film entries were based on six thematic series. 8000 spectators attended this festival and enjoyed the screening of a variety of films.
Zurich Film Festival 2006 - a success story
After its successful debut in 2005, the second year of Zurich Film Festival was also a smash hit. The festival was held between 2-8 October 2006. The festival was marked with many international premieres. Duncan Trucker's road movie "Transamerica" and Robert Schwentke's suspense thriller "Flightplan" caused a sensation. Zurich Film Festival 2007 - a learning platform for young film makers
The third Zurich Film Festival was held in co-operation with the Swiss Television. The main aim of this film festival was primarily to educate and motivate the young film makers. Organizers and the participants took part in the 8 exciting and dynamic workshop talks with 11 film professionals of international repute. This was an excellent opportunity to meet other film makers interact and learn from them. Traditional old film makers had the chance to interact with the new aggressive and talented young film makers.
Zurich Film Festival 2008
The Zurich Film Festival 2008 is scheduled to be held from 25 September to 5th October 2008. Latest feature, animation and documentary films will be premiered in this festival. Seminars and workshops will be arranged by expert film makers. 'Friends of the Zurich Film Festival Society' is an association supporting the cause of young film makers. The forthcoming festival will encourage young filmmakers to interact with eminent experts, build up a network with like minded people and also participate in different workshops.
