However, Zurich German or Zürichdeutsch is the most commonly spoken dialect in Zurich. Serbian, Macedonian, French, Croatian, Slovenian, Portuguese, Spanish and English are the other languages used for communication. The Zurich inhabitants mainly follow Protestantism, but during the 20th century some Catholic groups were formed in the city. According to a survey in August 2007, unemployment in Zurich was counted to be 2.6% of the total population.
