The Zurich Comedy Club is one of the famous amateur theater clubs in Zurich. The Zurich Comedy Club is extremely popular since its inception and is famous theater known for staging English plays. This club in Zurich has performed more than 120 plays in English, ranging from comedies to Shakespearean drama. All the members of Zurich Comedy Club are English-speaking people from different parts of Switzerland and various parts of the globe. They gather together in order to discuss, read, practice and rehearse theater plays.
The Zurich Comedy Club was established in 1954, when modern stand up comedy was not a popular concept. The Zurich Comedy Club is completely an amateur group and does not rely on external sources for its funds. Each year the members of Zurich Comedy Club produce and perform 2 plays for a period of 2 weeks in the months of May and November. The venue is the Seefeld Theater in Zurich. In addition to these, the club also stages its performance at other cultural venues as well.

Regular workshops are arranged for the members in order to improve the quality of the productions.
The Zurich Comedy Club is also a sponsor of NODA Summer School in the United Kingdom. The National Operatic and Dramatic Association or NODA represents the theater in the UK`
The President, committee members, the stage hands, directors and actors of Zurich Comedy Club work voluntarily and are not paid any of for their services. There are only sponsors for the advertisements in the club's programs. In the last 20 years the club has donated a lot of money to charity.
Some of the notable productions of Zurich Comedy Club in the past between 2002 to 2007 are Lady Windermere's Fan, The Clearing, Nobody's Perfect, Victorian Music Hall, The Cemetery Club, Blithe Spirit, Comedy Double Bill, Death of a Salesman, The Safari Party, Communicating Doors and Sylvia.
The Zurich Comedy Club is reputed throughout Switzerland and the world for its variety of entertaining plays.
