World Water Week in Stockholm is an international meeting place. In the year 2008 this event of World Water Week will take place in-between 17th and 23rd August. The main theme of this week is the progress and prospect on water.
English is the official language of this World Water Week in Stockholm. The World Water Week is a forum where experts and academicians from across the world exchange their experiences and views on water preservation and water storage mechanisms.
The World Water Week aims towards the improvement of health, environment, livelihood, sanitation, and poverty reduction. In the Stockholm World Week of 2008, special emphasis will be given on sanitation.
2006 Stockholm World Water Week
In the year 2006, this event took place in August from 20th to 26th of the month in the conference center of Stockholm.

Baltic 21 Lighthouse Projects was one of the main events in this program. Beside this, 23 side events, 35 seminars and 10 workshops were organized in this World Water Week. Moreover, this program included panel debates, international Stockholm Junior Water Prize competition, Stockholm Water Prize presentation, plenary sessions, exhibitions, social events and technical tours.
World Water Week in Stockholm- 2007
In 2007, more emphasis was placed on water-related problems. The Stockholm International Water Institute was the organizer of this event. Around 2300 people from 130 countries came in Sweden to join the Stockholm World Water Week.
Government representatives, UN agencies, educational institutes, and nongovernmental organizations took part in this 2007 World Water Week in Stockholm. In this event, the Prime Minister of Sweden, Fredrik Reinfeldt encouraged all the delegates to raise awareness for sanitation and water issues among the common people.
