Designed by Carl Eldh, the Branting Monument in Stockholm is an imposing statue of Hjalmar Branting, the leader of the Swedish Social Democratic Party, along with other important party members. Located at Norra Bantorget, the impressive bronze statue is 5 meters in height and 6 meters in width.
The Branting Monument- A Political Legacy
Constructed in the year of 1952, the Branting Monument reminds one of the rich political legacies of the state. A fine example of superb architectural skill, the splendid monument represents the powerful Branting giving a speech to laborers on 1st of May, which is popularly known as May Day all over the world.
The huge monument also figures prominent party workers of the Social Democratic Party. The bronze figures of August Palm and Axel Danielsson form an integral part of the huge monument.

The Branting Monument attests to the principle of the Swedish Social Democratic party which is recognition of the rights of the laborers. The monument was bombed on May 17th, 1992 that had destroyed a part of the splendid statue. However, the monument was re-constructed in the year of 1994 by Herman Bergmans Konstgjuteri AB Company.
