Storstockholms Lokaltrafik or SL is the name of the public transport company in Stockholm. This organization looks after the land-based transportation systems like trams, buses, trains and subways. The total number of people traveling with SL per day is around 60, 000.

SL Travel Tickets
To travel with the SL transportation, the passenger must carry tickets or travel cards for both short and long duration travels. Magnetic strip cards can be used for the automatic barriers at the commuter train stations and the Metro. For temporary visitors to the city, 1, 3, 7 travel cards can be used. Tickets can be bought from the SL Center via agents or from ticket machines set in different places of the city.
SL’s Buses, Subways and Railway System
There are red and blue buses running over various locations. Night buses are also available when subway stations are closed. Besides, there are sightseeing buses to take you in and around the popular attractions in Stockholm. Commuter trains and metro rails stop in almost all the stations. Express trains can be availed on the commuter lines but they do skip a few stations.
