The Stockholm Mosque serves as a meeting place of the Muslim population of Sweden and is an attraction for people visiting Stockholm from far off places. The Imam of the Mosque is Sheikh Hassan Moussa. The other name of Stockholm Mosque is Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan's Mosque.
History and Location Stockholm Mosque
The United Arab Emirates provided financial support to build this mosque. Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan was the head of UAE, after whom this mosque is named. This grand mosque in Stockholm was inaugurated in the month of June in the year of 2000. The mosque is situated near Medborgarplatsen, towards the southern part of Stockholm city. Earlier, the construction of the mosque was delayed because of various protests. However the mosque has gradually become a part of the Swedish society at present.

About Stockholm Mosque
The mosque is the largest in Sweden and attracts a large number of people every year, which amounts to around 50,000 annually. Out of them about twenty thousand people are regular visitors whereas the rest are un-planned and random visitors.
The mosque is constructed on the lines of general Swedish architectural styles. However, the interiors of the building reflect Islamic patterns and Muslim architecture. The ceilings have large chandeliers of crystal and the interiors provide a calm and serene ambience.
About two thousand people can be accommodated in the mosque at one time. The mosque also houses a library, gym, kitchen and offices.
