Mariatorget Stockholm is a beautiful park built in 1760 at Sodermalm area of the city. This park was then known as Adolf Fredriks torg as it was named after King Adolphus Frederick. The name of the park was again changed in 1959 to its present name of Mariatorget.
Mariatorget is one of the popular tourist destinations in Stockholm. Mariatorget is also known as the Maria Square in Stockholm. To the south of Mariatorget Stockholm runs the Saint Paulsgatan Street and to the north of this tourist spot is the Hornsgatan Street.

Swedenborgsgatan. This street was given its name after Emanuel Swedenborg. A bust of Emanuel Swedenborg has been put up in the garden. The square is further beautified with a magnificent fountain. The fountain is decorated by a sculpture of Thor, a Norse god. In the sculptural work, the god is shown to kill the sea serpent. This sculpture was made by Anders Henrick Wissler.
Saint Paulskyrkan is a church of the Methodists that is situated very near to the Maria Square. Tourists visiting the Mariatorget Stockholm can also drop in at this church. The nearby metro station that is located near Mariatorget is the Stockholm station.
