Karl Johanslussen is a sluice and a lock that is used to control the flood water that flows in between the eastern part of Malaren lake and the the Baltic sea. This lock is around 75 meters in length and 10 meters in width. Its depth, on the other hand, is around 3.90 meters. One of the main functions of this lock is to provide space for the boats taking the tourists for sightseeing tours. The lock was made between 1930 and 1935. It mainly rests on franki piles.

Its base plate is constructed of ferro concrete with the steel-made sleepers. On the other hand, the canals are made of granite. The iron pillars can also be seen here.
