John Ausonius


John Ausonius, popularly known as the "The Laser Man" killed several immigrants by his laser rifle. This incident took place on 2nd August, 1991 in Stockholm. He was accused of committing 11 murders. He has also been convicted of serial killings and bank robbery. He has been sentenced to life imprisonment since he was arrested in June 1992.

John Ausonius's Childhood and Education

John Ausonius was born on 12th July, 1953. His original name was Wolfgang Alexander Zaugg. He was a Swedish who migrated to Germany and Switzerland. He was brought up in these countries. As he was dark in complexion and had black hair, he was often ragged by his companions.

When he grew up, he tried to change his looks by coloring his hair blonde. He also changed his name legally calling himself as John (Wolfgang Alexander) Stannerman in the beginning and John Ausonius later on. He studied at a private German institution situated in Stockholm but soon discontinued. His secondary
school education was completed through a program on adult education. He was admitted to the Royal Institute of Technology but after studying for a year or two, he discontinued his studies.

Turning Point of Ausonius's Life

John Ausonius's aimed to become rich in life. His hatred for immigrants, communists and social democrats was mainly the cause of his ruin. Initially he started off as a taxi driver and then was into stock trading. Soon he earned huge amount of money. His spent a lavish lifestyle in his plush apartment during the later half of 1980's. However, he got addicted to gambling during his Germany tour. In order to maintain his rich style of living he took to robbery, almost 18 in number.

John Ausonius not only took to bank robbery but also killing criminals who had immigrated to the country. Gradually he started killing anybody who was an immigrant. As he used his laser gun for the purpose, he was soon named as the laser man by the media.
