Johan Garpenlöv


Johan Garpenlöv is a widely acclaimed ex-hockey player who had played in the National Hockey League of Sweden. Johan has received many accolades and marked his name gloriously in the history of Swedish Hockey.

Birth and Early Life of Johan Garpenlöv

Johan Garpenlöv, a Swedish hockey player was born in Stockholm on 21st March 1968. He has a marked physical stature with a height of 5ft 11inch and a weight of 185lb. In the National Hockey League Entry Draft of 1986, Johan Garpenlöv was enlisted in the 5th round by club Detroit Red Wings.

Career of Johan Garpenlöv

Johan Garpenlöv started his career in the year of 1985-
1986. He represented Sweden in European Junior Championships by playing in the Nacka Squad. In the World Junior Championships of 1987, Garpenlöv won the bronze medal by playing for the Swedish squad. He was a part of the team NHL, Red Wings that won silver medal in the 1990 World Championships.

In the 1991 season, Garpenlöv scored 39 points and a four goal game on 23rd November 1990 in opposition to Louis Blues. He also won a gold medal for his nation in 1991 Ice Hockey World Championships.

In 1995 March, Johan Garpenlöv was shifted to Florida Panthers. In 1999 Garpenlöv was given offers of joining the Atlanta Thrashers club. He accepted the offer and in 1999-2000 introductory sessions he became an official member of the club. Though, in the same year Johan Garpenlöv returned to play for Djurgården in Sweden.
