Stockholm Jazz Festival is one of the most popular cultural events of Sweden. Usually during summer season this annual jazz festival takes place in different corners of the city. This is considered to be one of the oldest festivals of Stockholm.

The places where this Stockholm Jazz Festival has been held are Skeppsholmen, Hotell Anglais, Jazz Club Fasching, Kungstradgarden, Stockholm Concert Hall and Moderna museet. In the year 2008, this festival will celebrate its 25th birthday. It will take place on the island of Skeppsholmen.

Some of the world-known performers who took part in this festival are Peps Persson, Monica Zetterlund, Arne Domnerus, Stan Getz, Nils Landgren, Count Basie, Lisa Ekdahl, Dizzy Gillespie, Miriam Makeba and Dizzy Gillespie. Among them, Sven Arne Domnerus is a popular saxophonist and Lisa Ekdahl is a well-known Swedish song-writer. However, not only have Swedish artists, but performers from across the globe come here to participate. Miriam Makeba is one such artist. She is a South African singer who has received Grammy Award.
In the year 2007, around SEK 600,000 was invested for this Stockholm Jazz Festival. Usually, world famous dancers and musicians take part in this event. In 2006, Sting (an English musician) performed in the jazz festival of Stockholm.
