Inlagd sill


Inlagd sill is a mouth-watering cuisine of Sweden. Several ingredients are needed to prepare the Swedish delicacy. The ingredients can be purchased at reasonable prices and are also easily available in the market. So, by following the preparation procedure, anyone can try to make it out at home. This recipe is also known as Scandinavian Pickled Herring.

Inlagd sill and Its Ingredients and Preparation Method

Some of the ingredients that are used to make this recipe are salted herring, vinegar, sugar, onions peppercorns. First soak herring in water and keep it overnight. In the morning drain it and remove all its
bones. Thereafter mix pepper, vinegar, crushed peppercorns and sugar in a bowl. Then add herring to it. Usually, raw vinegar is used to prepare the delicacy, but if the vinegar is too strong, the cook can dilute it with water. Wait for few minutes, after which the delicacy is ready to be served.

Garnishing Style of Inlagd sill

While serving Inlagd sill, the fish may be sliced diagonally. Chopped onions are used for garnishing. People prefer to make the dish because of its simple procedure and easy availability of ingredients. Inlagd sill is indeed one of the most-consumed delicacies of Sweden.
