Igelbacken is a stream that flows in the northern part of Stockholm in Sweden. In Swedish, Igelbacken means Leech Rill. The municipalities of Sollentuna, Stockholm, Solna Sundbyberg and Jarfalla are part of the drainage area of Igelbacken stream. A part of the Ekoparken National Park also falls under the drainage area of Igelbacken.
The Igelbacken is one of the important water bodies in Stockholm. The stream flows from west to east and stretches for about 10 km. The stream flows to Edsviken from Sabysjon in Jarfalla. Djupanbacken stream collects water from the Djupan Lake and flows into Igelbacken stream. It is the main feeder of Igelbacken stream.
The municipalities forming part of the drainage area of Igelbacken stream have taken initiative to preserve the greenery around the river.

Samples of river water were tested and it showed the presence of moderate amount of Nitrogen and Phosphorus.
But metal was found in a high level in the river water.
The upper part of the Igelbacken constitutes Norra Jarvafaltet region. It is marked by moraine ridges. Trees like Birch, Alder and Bulrush grows in these areas. Lush green pastures are also found in the upper part of Igelbacken. The river separates the suburban regions of Tensta-Rinkeby and Akalla-Hjulsta.
The Igelbacken stream is the home to different species of fishes like Pike, Tench, Perch, Stone Loach, European Crayfish and Roach. Different species of birds like Lesser Spotted Woodpecker, Common Snipe, Thrush Nightingale, Skylark and Herons can be observed by the river banks of Igelbacken.
