Stockholm Ice Bar is an entertainment tourist attraction. Established in 2002, the Ice Bar in Stockholm belonging to the Nordic Sea Hotel, has been featured by CNN and BBC. The distinctiveness of Ice Bar Stockholm lies in its usage of ice all around inside the bar which is maintained at a temperature of -5ºC throughout the year. The tables and walls are made of ice from River Torne. Drinks are served in hollowed ice cubes, and placed on the bar counter made of ice blocks. The bar counter and tables are rebuilt in gaps of six months.
The popularity of the bar in its first year of operation inspired Swedish vodka producer 'Absolut' to buy its naming rights in 2003. Consequently it was renamed 'Absolut Ice Bar'. Presently, it is run jointly by Nordic Sea Hotel and Icehotel of Jukkasjarvi.
The bar having a seating capacity of 30 people, is always full. Guests need to inform about their reservation time slots over telephone well in advance. These time slots are for 45 minutes. In case a guest
