Ginger Snaps Pepparkakor


Ginger Snaps Pepparkakor is a very popular dish of Sweden. In Christmas, many of the Swedish people prefer to relish the dish. Ginger is the main ingredient used to cook the delicacy. Only a couple of minutes are required to prepare this dish.

Ingredients for Ginger Snaps Pepparkakor

The ingredients required to make the dish of Ginger Snaps Pepparkakor are molasses, sugar, butter, flour, egg, soda and salt to the taste. First pour the molasses in a bowl and boil it. When it gets boiled, add butter and sugar to it. Wait for sometime, until sugar and butter gets completely boiled. Thereafter, remove it from the heat. Now, add egg to the mixture.
In this mixture, salt, flour, ginger, cinnamon and soda should also be added.

Cooking of Ginger Snaps

Now, shape this mixture with the hands until the dough is formed. Thereafter cut it into small pieces. One can give different shapes to these pieces. They can be given circular shapes, or can also be given the shape of hearts. Now place those pieces on baking sheets and bake it for 10 to 15 minutes until they change color. Each of these pieces should be baked in such a way so that they become hard. Then keep those baked pieces of ginger snaps into cold. The snack is now ready to be served. It is better to store it in air-tight bottles.
