Originally the busy fish market was situated on the eastern shores of Stadsholmen Island, in- between Skeppsbron and Osterlanggatan roads and Brunnsgrand and Nygrand streets of Sweden. However, during the 14th century, the Fish market or Fisketorget had to be shifted to Gamla Stan for shortage of space.
