The Ersta Sköndal University College was set up in the year 1998 with a view to impart quality education to the students. The education process merges theory with practice, pays special attention towards developing professional outlook for students and makes them aware of the society and world philosophies.
Campus of the Ersta Sköndal University College
The College has two campuses, one at Stora Skondal and the other at Ersta, both comprising adequate facilities for the personal growth of students. There are about 1000 total students enrolled in the college. The Stora campus is located at Stigbergsgatan 30, SE-100 61 Stockholm. The Ersta campus is situated at Herbert Widmans väg 12, SE-128 06 Sköndal.

The College offers subjects under the following departments:
- Department of Church Music
The only University Degree in Sweden on Church Music is offered by this department of Ersta Skondal University College.
- Department of Health Care Sciences
There are three and four year programs on nursing offered by this department.

There is another course that leads to a Master’s degree in Nursing.
There is a specialist nursing course available as well, under this department.
Department of Diaconal Studies and Theology
This department offers Courses on Theology. This program is generally for a year. There are basic and advanced courses in Theology that is offered by this department.
Department of Social Work
This department offers a four year course on Social Work. There is another course offered in conjunction with nursing program for a four year period, focused towards care of the elderly people. Another program offered by this department leads to a Master’s Degree in Social Work.
Facilities at the Ersta Sköndal University College
The college has contacts with other international institutes and participates in student exchange programs with European and Asian institutes. This opens up a good platform for the students to pursue education around different countries in the globe.
The College has a wonderful collection at the libraries in both the campuses. The library at Ersta campus is integrated with the Theological Institute of Stockholm’s library. The library is not only used by students, teachers and staff of the college, it is open for use by the public as well.
The College follows mainly Swedish as the medium of teaching. However, there are a few subjects that are taught in English as well.
