Drevviken is a picturesque lake in the Southern part of Stockholm. It is the largest lake of Huddinge, the Municipality of Stockholm County. This Drevviken Lake passes through Huddinge, Haninge, Stockholm and Tyresö municipalities of Sweden.
The surrounding area of this lake is frequented by a number of foreign travelers. This nearby lake area has contributed in forming a part of the rich natural reserve around Flaten Lake.
The Picturesque Lake of Drevviken
Three important industrial areas lie within its drainage basin, whereas the remaining part of Drevviken area is occupied by open grasslands and forests. In the Northern part of the lake, there is the deciduous forest. The low and high hills of the forest area are covered with herbaceous plants which are found in abundance. Apart from this, pine forest, fluvio-glacial deposit and irrigated marsh lands form typical geographical features of the forest.

In the lake area of Drevviken, there are several small scale industries and a petrol station. A metro track as well as many traffic routes passes through Drevviken's catchment area. A wide variety of fauna and flora species can be found in the area. Among them, cyanobacteria, Pseudanabaena limnetica, Anabaena, cyclopoid copepods, Nuttall's waterweed and Branched Bur-reed are some of the rare flora species of this lake.
Lake Drevviken and Its Rare Species
The fauna species in Lake Drevviken include Dragonfly, Blue-tailed Damselflies, Zander, Roach, Perch, Northern Pike, Trout, and Eel. Usually in the northern course of the Lake Drevviken, Smooth Newt, Common Toad, Soprano Pipistrelle and Common Frog can be found.
Lake Drevviken draws several tourists from far and wide who are enchanted with the scenic beauty of the surrounding areas.
