The Stockholm City Theatre was established in 1956. The inaugural performance at Stockholm City Theatre was organized four years later, in 1960. This theater of Stockholm shifted to Sergels torg in 1990. This new building has been set up in the center of the city.
In the initial years of the foundation of this theater, a temporary stage was housed at the Folkets hus building to stage the performances. The Stockholm City Theatre continued with its performances in this building for about thirty years. Later in 1990, this theater was shifted to a new building known as the Kulturuset in Sergels torg.
