Cecilia Malmstrom is a Swedish minister currently appointed as a Minister for European Union Affairs in the Government of Sweden. She has been appointed in various positions since 1986. She has also authored several books and numerous articles based on European politics, terrorism and immigration, Spanish politics and European regionalism. She is well educated and can speak Italian and German language. She can also speak and write languages like English, French and Spanish.
Education of Cecilia Malmstrom
Cecilia Malmstrom was born on 15th May 1968, in Stockholm city in Sweden. She is a highly qualified lady. She was brought up in Goteborg where she studied at the Goteborg University. She obtained a Bachelors of Arts degree and became a Doctorate in Political Science. She also studied literature from the University of Paris Sorbonne. Cecilia Malmstrom pursued a social science program from Schillerska Upper Secondary School in Göteborg.

Cecilia Malmstrom started her career as a technical assistant as well as a translator in1986 and worked with SKF in Paris, Barcelona and
Stuttgart. She then served as a Psychiatric nurse at the Lillhagen Hospital in Göteborg. Gradually she worked as a teacher, lay assessor and lecturer. She was Göteborg Municipal Immigration Committee's Vice Chair between 1994 and 1998. In between she also became Swedish Liberal Party Board member.
From 1998 onwards, she worked as a member of the Västra Götaland Regional Council. From 1999, she became a member of the European Parliament. She was involved in parliament committee's various affairs like constitutional affairs and foreign affairs. Cecilia Malmstrom became Swedish Liberal Party Executive member in the year 2001.
Cecilia Malmstrom has also been a member of different parties and organizations like European Parliament Subcommittee and EU-Croatia Joint Parliamentary Committee. Since 2006, she has been European Parliament Committee's substitute member dealing with Internal Market and Consumer Protection. At present she resides in Goteborg. She is married and is blessed with two children.
