Alviksbron Bridge Details
In the month of August, 2000 the Alviksbron bridge was officially opened to the public. This bridge was named after a manor house by the name of Alvik. In the under surface of this bridge there is an arch, that makes the bridge look more slender. Two of its pillars touch the water. Each of these pillars comprises 2 thin plates.
In the year 2001, a crack was seen in the bridge. On the southern part of this bridge this crack formation was discovered and it underwent a major reconstruction. On a temporary basis, a number of pre-stressing bars are constructed in order to give support to the bridge.
