AIK Bandy


AIK abbreviated for Allmänna Idrottsklubben is the largest sports club in Sweden. The club is associated with different sports like hockey, bandy, football, bowling, ice hockey and floorball. The women team of AIK Bandy has earned great reputation by becoming champion for 11 times. AIK bandy comprises senior members in both men and women teams.

AIK Bandy History

AIK was formed on 15th February in the year 1891 in the city of Stockholm. The members of AIK wear uniform of black and white and the emblem of the club is dark blue, gold and yellow. The AIK women team was formed during the 70's. They became nine times champions between the year 1988 and 2004. The AIK Bandy team for men started in 1905 but stopped in
1986. The team again started playing in the year 2004.

AIK Bandy Championships

The men's AIK Bandy team became champions in the year 1909, 1914 and 1931. The women's Bandy team have made a record by their 11 victories starting from the year 1988, 1990, 1995, 1996, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2003, 2004, 2005 and finally in 2006. Both the trams have played in the Spånga IP stadium or arena.
