Schooling under Colombo Education:
In Colombo, every children should complete their thirteen years of schooling that comprise of going to primary schools from five to ten years of age, followed by attending junior secondary schools from age eleven to the next subsequent five years, and then going to senior secondary school for the next two years. The entire schooling ends with the Advanced Level Examination. The schools of Colombo are generally under the Provincial Council and some of the schools are looked after by the Central government. Universities in Colombo:
There is only one state university in Colombo, the University of Colombo, offering courses in different subjects such as Medicine, Management, Computer Science, and Law, apart from the general stream of Humanities and Science. The University has a special branch to provide trainings in Computer Science.There are also some training institutions in Colombo like the Sri Lanka Institute of Information and Technology and other educational institutions offering courses on information technology.
