The University of Valencia is one of the old universities in Spain. It is officially known as Universitat de València. It was established in the year 1499. At present there are as many as 60,000 students, studying in the university.

Universitat de València has a total number of 3 campuses, which are called the Burjassot Campus, the Tarongers and the Blasco Ibañez Campus. The first one consists of the college buildings of Pharmacy, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and the School of Engineering. History
The university building was donated by Mosen Pedro Vilaragut and it was due to the strong zeal of St Vincent Ferrer that the foundation of the university was made possible. At the time of its foundation, the educational courses in the university were limited to Mathematics, Physics, Theology, Canon law, Medicine, Greek, Hebrew, Arabic, philosophy and Latin.
Francisco Tomas is the chancellor of the University of Valencia at present.
