History of the Heroes
The Valencia Club de Futbol was established on 18th March, 1919. Founded by a group of soccer loving Valencians, Valencia Football Club's first president was Octavio Augusto Milego. The club played its first match against Valencia Gimnastico and won by a

solitary goal. The first success came in 1923, as the club became the regional champion and qualified for Copa del Reye. They joined the top flight of Spanish football in 1930 by winning the second division league and got promoted to the first division. Valencia tasted their first international success by winning the UEFA Cup or Fairs Cup as it was called, in 1960-61 season.
