There are many ways of getting to Madrid. Flights, available from major cities in Spain and outside, form the easiest and fastest way of traveling to Madrid. Besides, there are many international trains, coaches and buses that run to Madrid from London and Paris. People can also travel to Madrid by car.

Fly to Madrid

Reaching Madrid by air is one of the simplest and fastest ways to travel to the city. There are a large number of international airlines that runs flights to Madrid. These include Air Madrid, British Airways, Iberia, Air Berlin, Aeroflot, Air China, LAN Airlines, Lufthansa and many more.

Flights to the city are available from a large number of cities across the world like Amsterdam, Brussels, Berlin, Budapest, Barcelona, Cologne etc. Many cheap flights are also available to Madrid.

The national carrier of Spain, Air Madrid, operates a large number of domestic as well as international flights to and from Madrid. The airport of Madrid known as the Barajas Airport, is one the busiest airports of Europe and it serves national and international airlines.

People can also get to Madrid from various European cities by rail. Plenty of trains running to and from Madrid connect it with places in Spain as well as in Europe. There are regional trains running to Madrid from surrounding areas. National trains connect Madrid to other places and international trains run to the city from major European cities.

Direct trains run regularly between London and Madrid and between Paris and Madrid. The trains arrive to and depart from Atocha Station in Madrid and prices vary according to the distance and the destination. The main rail company that operates trains to and from Madrid is Eurostar.

Other Ways of Getting to Madrid

Besides flights and trains, people can also travel to Madrid by cars, coaches, buses or ferries. The most popular company that operates coaches to and from Madrid is Eurolines. Though the coaches are not very cheap, yet they are very comfortable. The coaches link Madrid to London and are available many times a week. The prices rise during the peak season and discounts are available for students.

With a number of motorways connecting Madrid with other cities in Europe, people can also opt to get to Madrid by car. But it takes a long time to reach Madrid from other European cities by car. Traveling to Madrid by road can also be expensive because of the tolls that have to be paid and the cost of petrol.

Ferries also run to Madrid from several cities of Europe. Therefore, with so many options, reaching Madrid from any part of the world is not much of a problem.
