In Seoul, mayor is the head of the City Government. The post of mayor is regarded as one of the most powerful posts in Seoul. The Seoul Government is headed by the mayor. The present Mayor of Seoul is Oh Se-hoon. The government of Seoul has always worked for the development and progress of the metropolis.
About the Present Seoul Mayor
Oh Se-hoon was born on 4th January, 1961 in Seoul. The present Seoul mayor did his LL.B from the Korea University. He also secured a LL.M degree in commercial law and LL.D in civil procedure from the same university. Mountain biking is the favorite sport of Oh Se-hoon.
Professional Career
Oh Se-hoon started his professional career in the Bar of Korea in the year 1984. In the year 1991, he started practicing privately in the Seoul Bar Association. From September 1997 to February 2000, he remained

professor in College of Law of Sookmyung Women's University.Oh Se-hoon was also a visiting scholar to the Law School of the Yale University. He also served as Free Legal Advisor to the Taehwa Christian Community Center from March 1999 to February 2000. The present mayor of Seoul was also employed as a lawyer with Chang and Lee and Jiseong, a law firm and judicial aggregate.
Political Activities
Oh Se-hoon was a member of the Korean Federal Bar Association and Committee on the Environment and Energy Research. From 1996 to 1997, he served as Auditor to the Citizens' Committee on Green Seoul. Oh Se-hoon was a member of the 16th National Assembly from May 2000 to May 2004. From July 2003 to January 2004, he was the member of the Standing Committee, Grand National Party. From May 2005 to April 2006, he remained member of the Executive Committee, Korean Federation for the Environment Movement. Since 2006, Oh Se-hoon has been serving as the Mayor of Seoul.
