The mayor is the head of Seoul Government. Oh Se-hoon is the present mayor of Seoul. Seoul Metropolitan Government includes one mayor, three vice mayors and four policy advisors. Seoul's administrative organization has been divided into the following branches:
- Seoul Metropolitan Council ( SMC), which is the legislative body
- Seoul Metropolitan Government ( SMG), which is the city's executive branch
Seoul Administrative Divisions
The administration of the city is executed in three- tier form, namely ‘ci’ or city, ‘gu’ or distirct and ‘dong’ or village. There are 25 autonomous “gu” or districts in Seoul. The districts of the city are further divided into 522 dong. The dongs of Seoul have been again fractioned into 13,787 tongs. The tongs have been categorized into 102,796 ban. The mayor is supported by the vice mayors. Two of the Seoul's vice mayors have the responsibility to look after administrative affairs and one has been entitled the duty to supervise political affairs. Seoul Government encompasses three project

offices, namely Infrastructure Management, Waterworks and Subway Construction.There are also public work corporations that are supported by Seoul. In each of the city districts or “gu” there are offices, bureaus, division and one community medical center.
