The local teams compete in this festival with full enthusiasm and each of the team is determined to win, and the rivalries are intense. This two-day festival has the supporters of each team cheering their teams vociferously.

Customs and Traditions:The Xhosa people are also called the Red Blanket people. This is because of their tradition of wearing red-colored blankets dyed with red ochre. The clothes that the Xhosa people used to wear signified their status. Engaged women color their plaits red to depict respect to their fiancées. The Xhosa women always wear a headdress to signify respect to the head of their family. People of different tribes wear different colored dresses, which denote that they belong to different tribes. The Xhosa tribe consists of two major clans. Among these, the women of the Gcaleka clan cover their arms and legs in beads and brass bangles and also cover themselves with colored beads.
