The Rudimentals- the beginning
The start of The Rudimentals was quite casual. The four members of the original band were Etienne Harris--the guitarist, Barry Clausen--the bassist, Milandro Mapenga-- the keyboard player and Duane Heydenreych-- the drummer. The association of these band members with Teboho Maidza resulted in the evolution of The Rudimentals group.

Active since 2000, The Rudimentals have also included other members who have contributed significantly towards the fascinating music of the band. The members who joined the band at different points of time include Jody Engelbrecht--trumpet, Simon Bates--saxophone and Ross McDonald—trombone, Dirk Meerkotter--keyboard player and Errol Stratchen--the bassist.
