Cape Peninsula


Located at the southwestern end of Africa the Cape Peninsula is widely known as the meeting point of Atlantic and Indian Ocean.

Cape Peninsula is a craggy peninsula that stretches out about 47 miles towards the Atlantic Ocean. This peninsula is situated in the southwestern end of the continent of Africa. Cape of Good Hope and Cape Point are located at the southern end region of the Cape Peninsula. The world famous Table Mountain is situated on the northern end of this peninsula.

Although International Hydrographic Organization has defined Cape Agulhas as the meeting place of Indian Ocean and Atlantic Ocean, the Cape of Good Hope is widely described as the juncture those Oceans.

About Cape Peninsula

The history of the Cape Peninsula dates back 60 million years when this peninsula was nothing but an island. But the gradual formation of Cape Flats has connected Cape Peninsula with the mainland. The villages and the neighborhood of Cape Peninsula are considered as the part of greater Cape Town.
