In the main museum building, there are 365 rooms. This comprises 6 complexes which date back to the 18th and 19th century. These include The Winter Palace, The New Hermitage, The Old Hermitage and The Small Hermitage, which exhibit monuments depicting art and culture in Russia and Western Europe during the ancient times. The main museum also comprises The Reserve House and the Hermitage Theater. Besides, exhibitions are also held in other buildings such as the Menshikov Palace and The Museum of Porcelain.

Hermitage Museum Education Center
The museum organizes several educational programs based on art themes. The School Center of the museum arranges programs like excursions, lectures, computer class, and drawing class for both normal children and also the disabled ones. To educate the adults based on their artistic creativity, the museum developed special programs by the Public Education Department.
Information for the Visitors
The museum's main complex, the Menshikov Place, the Museum of Porcelain and the general staff buildings open from Tuesdays to Saturdays between 10.30 am and 6 pm. On Mondays it is closed. Winter Palace is open from Tuesdays to Saturdays between 10.30 am and 5 pm. The visitors are not allowed to take their camera inside. They are also forbidden to take food or beverages inside.
