Pushkin Catherine's Palace is one of the most visited tourist attractions of St. Petersburg in Russia. Originally a Finnish farm house, it was possessed by the Russian Tsar Peter the Great in 1708.
Tsarskaya Mysa in St. Petersburg
The Finnish farm house named Saari Mois in Dudorovsky Eminence was named 'Tsarskaya Mysa' after being occupied by Peter the Great. He used the farm house as a residence for his Empress wife Catherine I from 1708 – 1724. Significant improvements were made to this structure during the reign of Empress Elizabeth after 1741.

Catherine's Palace with its snow-white columns, light blue ribbons, and gilded friezes provides an impressive sight. The southern wing containing the state rooms is topped with a gold dome and star spire. The northern wing has five domes of gold on the top. Approximately one hundred kilogram of gold was used for making the domes, and the gild work. Each of the windows and columns of the galleries forming the facade are decorated with a vase or gold-leafed statue made of wood.
All the different service buildings of the Tsarskaya Mysa are arranged in a semi-circle around the courtyard in the Palace compound.
Catherine's Palace and Park in 7, Sadovaya Street, Pushkin remains open for visitors from 10 am to 5 pm except Tuesday and last Monday of the month.
