The metro of Saint Petersburg is under Saint Petersburg Metropolitan which is a state municipal company of Russia. The operation of metro in Saint Petersburg was formerly looked after by Ministry of Rail Services. The revenue collected from advertisements in the metro stations and from train fares are used in financing Saint Petersburg Metro. The Ministry of Transportation also finances the developmental works of Saint Petersburg Metro.
