Inaugurated in the year of 1826, Lions Bridge is known for its unique architectural innovations. The Lions Bridge is supported by metal frames and four Lions that are made up of white cast iron.
Lions Bridge- Epitome of Architectural Creativity
Constructed over Griboedov Canal, the outlay of the Lions Bridge was planned by architect G. Tetter. One of the prominent Saint Petersburg bridges, Lions Bridge is elaborately decorated with beautiful engravings on bronze plate.
The white cast iron lions were designed by P. Sokolov that adds to the grace of the Lions Bridge. The impressive lions are symbolically tied to the bridge by grey and gold chains. The railings of the bridge bear the design of rectangular crisscross. The grey railings

are further decorated with unique design patterns of roses and other flowers.
The Lions Bridge was renovated again in the mid- 20th century. The railings, lanterns and lamp sheds were repaired to beautify the bridge.
