Konstantin Sakaev is a renowned chess player from Saint Petersburg. Born on the 13th of April, 1974, Konstantin Sakaev is not only a chess player but also a world class chess writer. In the year 1992 he acquired the title of Russian Chess International Grandmaster.

Konstantin Sakaev is an active participant of St. Petersburg's Grandmaster Chess School. He guided Nana Ioseliani and Vladimir Kramnik and made them ready to play in the World Championship Candidates' Matches.

Excellent Performances of Konstantin Sakaev

He played excellently in the 1990 World Champion under 16 and USSR Youth Champion. Two years later in 1992 he played for the World Champion under 18, whereas, in 1999 he played in the Russian Champion. Konstantin Sakaev also played in the Olympic champion with the team of Russia and occupied the first position for two times. According to the FIDE rating of January 2004, Konstantin Sakaev occupied the ELO 2656, 34th position.
