St. Petersburg International Dance Film Festival


St. Petersburg International Dance Film Festival is unique event, held in Saint Petersburg, Russia. The event is also known by the name of 'Kinodance'. This event features several films, which involve dance as one of the chief themes.

The films can be of different types including adapted films, documentaries, original collaborations and virtual dance. Dance in the films need not necessarily be real performance but might even be the work of graphics, animation, video and celluloid creation. The idea of the entire event is to convey message through dance. The first event was held in 2002.

St. Petersburg International Dance Film Festival Participation Criteria

The participants in the St. Petersburg International
Dance Film Festival have to be necessarily citizen of any country of the Eastern Europe or Soviet Union. The alternative option is that the participant has to collaborate with an artist from Eastern Europe or Soviet Union. No entry fee is required to participate in the competition. The participants of the Eastern European nations cannot participate in the competition but can only put up their film for exhibition.
