St. Petersburg has a maritime climate with moderate winters and slightly cooler summers. The wind from Gulf of Finland influences the climate of Saint Petersburg. That is why the climate of St. Petersburg remains humid. One important phenomenon in St. Petersburg is "White night", that occurs during June and July (11th June to 2nd July). During this period, the Sun does not normally set before 10 pm. as a result, the twilight lasts for longer. The longest day in Saint Petersburg is July 22 and the shortest day is 22nd December.

The average temperature in winter is -8°C and the average temperature in summer is 17.8°C. The temperature in summer fluctuates between 25°C to 30°?. In winter, the temperature sometimes falls up to -30°C. During June temperature sometimes reach 20°C.
