Saint Petersburg Electrotechnical University (ETU) is renowned institute of higher education in Russia. History of Saint Petersburg Electrotechnical University
The university was established in 1886 and called "Engineering College of the Department of Post and Telegraph of Russia". In the year 1891, it was renamed as Imperial Institute of Electrical Engineering. Alexander Popov, who invented radio, was appointed as the first rector of the Saint Petersburg Electrotechnical institute. The International School of Management was founded in 1990. The institute was granted the status of university in the year 1992.

The students can pursue bachelor's degree program, master's degree program or Ph. D studies at the university. Students who want to study at this university must apply for application forms at the Dean's office. These forms must be filled and submitted along with a copy of secondary or higher secondary certificates, birth certificate and medical certificate. ETU Campus
The university campus is located at Professor Popov Street 5, St. Petersburg, Russia. The campus constitutes departments, technical support units, educational and research laboratories, publishing house, sports center, auxiliary units, health center, innovation center and Technology Park. The university library is one of the oldest in Saint Petersburg. The library has a collection of 12, 00,000 books and more than 27,000 magazines. Students can avail all the 5 different reading rooms of the library.
The administration of the university has devised strict rules that are to be followed by the students to maintain high standards of discipline within the campus. The students can smoke only in specially allotted areas of the ETU Campus. The ETU helps the students to develop a balanced personality through its comprehensive curriculum and regular sporting events.
