Beloselsky-Belozersky Palace is located in Nevsky Prospekt area in the northern side of Saint Petersburg. Presently, it is considered to be one of the well-known museums and a municipal cultural hub of this Russian city. This palace reflects the classical architectural style. The palace derived its name from Ivan Elagin, a court official. In the 18th century, he was the owner of this precious property.
Beloselsky-Belozersky Palace and Its History
In the year 1817 this palace underwent a significant change. During this time, Alexander I bought this palace for Maria Fedorovna, her mother and Carlo Rossi, the renowned architect of Italy took the responsibility to reconstruct it. He brought a change in the interior decoration of the palace and made it more impressive than before.
Until October Revolution broke out in 1917, this palace served as the royal residence. However, during World War II this palace suffered serious damages.Later several reconstruction works took place to restore this royal palace.

Since 1987 Beloselsky-Belozersky Palace is functioning as a museum. Now-a-days several exhibitions, concerts and cultural programs are held in this palace complex. By purchasing tickets for those concerts, people also get the chance to explore the highly adorned and well-maintained interiors of the palace. Porcelain Room, Oval Hall and the dining room are the most attractive parts of this Russian palace. Apart from this, it comprises 2 concert halls, one is a mirror hall, whereas, the other one is minor hall.
The Historical Monument of Beloselsky-Belozersky Palace
While roaming around this palace complex, the visitors come across a number of wax figures of most powerful rulers of the country. They are placed on the first floor of this palace building. People are allowed to visit this place from 12 noon to 6 pm. Gostiny Dvor is its nearest metro station.
