Russian Bridge of Anichkov
In between 1841-1842 another Russian bridge was constructed on this site under the guidance of Lt. General Gotman. This newly built bridge was constructed of stone and has 3 spans. K. Shinkel, a German architect had designed it. However between the years 1906 and 1908, the bridge underwent reconstruction due to the incessant problem in the stone arches of this bridge.
The sculptures that can be seen over the bridge are collectively called "The Horse Tamer". During the World War II, this bridge went through serious damages and the sculptures were taken away from there. Presently, reconstructions are made in order to bring Anichkov Bridge back to its original condition.
